1. What we collect

• Mobile number — to verify one person, one vote. Never shown to other users.
• Coarse location (state/city) derived from your IP — for turnout statistics only.
• Your polls and uploaded images — images are re-encoded and location metadata (EXIF) is stripped on upload.
• Participation records — that you voted in a poll, when, and your receipt.
• Technical logs (IP, timestamps) — for security and abuse prevention.

2. What we deliberately cannot know

Your ballot is stored with no link to your identity. The record that you voted and the record of what was voted are separate, unlinked tables — nobody, including us, can reconstruct how you voted. Written reasons are counted, never published.

3. How we use data

To run the service: OTP delivery, double-vote prevention, aggregated results, moderation, abuse prevention. We do not sell data, run ads, or share subscriber data with partners.

4. Processors we use

• MSG91 — delivers OTP SMS (receives the number being verified).
• Anthropic — machine-translates poll text (receives poll content, not your identity).
• Cloudflare Turnstile (if enabled) — bot protection on the OTP step.

5. Cookies

Two: a signed session cookie (login) and a language preference. No tracking cookies.

6. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

Access, correction, and erasure: delete your account from your dashboard at any time — this permanently removes your number, polls, and participation records (anonymous ballots cannot be traced to you and are unaffected). For anything else, write to the Grievance Officer.

7. Retention & security

Data is kept while your account exists; OTP codes expire in minutes; technical logs are rotated. Data is stored on servers in India-region infrastructure with encrypted transport.
